how did you decide to become a chinese medicine practitioner?
In the midst of studying pre-medicine in my late teens and early twenties, I experienced monstrous PMS, depression, anxiety, and debilitating periods. After several hospitalizations due to extreme menstrual pain, and jumping from physician to physician without any answers, I sought out the support of a woman’s health acupuncturist as a last resort. This was the first time in years of seeking help where my symptoms were validated and met with curiosity, and I received integrative care that resolved the root issue within months.
This experience inspired me to pivot from biomedicine to Traditional Chinese Medicine to support the countless women who are facing similar challenges and yearning to be heard, seen, and supported in their reproductive health journeys.
what is something that you love helping your patients with?
I love serving women and couples with reproductive health and fertility challenges, from cycle support (for conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and PMDD) through fertility, IVF and IUI, and postpartum care.
What inspires your work?
The beauty, power, and strength of women inspire me. I believe that when women are well cared for, empowered, and provided with the resources to thrive in their health, the world truly changes for the better.
what is your self-care ritual?
My self-care rituals include quiet mornings and indulging in nature throughout the week, whether that’s a hike at Torrey Pines, an evening walk at the beach, or visiting the Encinitas meditation gardens, reformer Pilates, warm baths with Epsom salt and essential oils like lavender and vetiver, cooking homemade meals with a record on, and regular acupuncture.
