how did you decide to become a chinese medicine practitioner?

Working as an office manager in an Integrative Family Practice in San Francisco in the 00s, I became curious about Acupuncture as one of the MDs there began her studies in Chinese medicine and would occasionally practice on me if I complained about a headache or stress. Eventually I sought treatment outside my work environment and received treatment for many years before deciding to embark on my own studies in Berkeley at AIMC. The first time I had an acupuncture treatment, something inside me unlocked. I wasn’t sure what it was at the time but I knew something had changed within me, and it was Big. I wanted to offer that feeling of transformation to others, though I wasn’t sure how or where or when. That moment has lead me beyond my wildest dreams!

What is something that you love to help your patients with?

Connecting the dots. Helping people learn more about how the body works, its timing, seasons, & cycles, and how validating that information can be within the framework of what someone may be experiencing in their life.

what inspires your work?

So many wise women on the path before me.

what is your self-care ritual?

Dance fitness, Pilates, hikes on El Cerrito Hillside and Tilden Park (faves), cooking, connection with friends and family, soul-searching, and deep rest.
